Jude grabbed his Cars backpack on wheels that Grandma Kittie had sent him, got dressed up and headed out. Unfortunately, by 6pm (as we were getting ready to leave for the event) Jude decided it was bed time. So, we had many cranky moments, but finally when girls started showing interest in his cuteness we turned that frown upside down.
The candy collecting part of it, was not very successful. He thought that everyone was trying to take his bag away from him, instead of putting something in it. He also was not interested in standing still. He was looking to set a record in the amount of times we could lap the parking lot before we had to leave. It did allow everyone to see him in all his cuteness.
Since it had gotten so dark so fast Friday night, we decided to go for a round two with the costume on Saturday. We dressed him up in the costume, and brought trick-or-treating to the ducks nearby. The whole family, and two of our friends went down and fed the ducks. They were very excited for the opportunity to trick-or-treat.
The funny part about feeding the ducks with Jude, is that he really hasn't figured out the whole idea of feeding the ducks.
On our way back, to our surprise, they had actually started cleaning the leaves out of the yards. You must understand that the apartment complex that we live in, is very caught up on their image, and so we were very surprised to see large lawn areas still 100% covered by leaves. This made a lot of leaves for Jude to play in, but not piles. So, on our way back from the ducks we stumbled upon the piles that were now being created. Jude, of course, wanted to plow through. So, we enjoyed some time in the leaves plowing, falling, laughing, and throwing.
Last but not least we wrapped up or Saturday with Rog and I enjoying an amazing steak dinner at Texas Roadhouse, while Jude hung out with some new friends he had made.
Today we have been laid back watching tv, and grading as we recover from all of our excitement from yesterday. Jude finally got a chance to wear his new cool Halloween shirt from Grandma Kittie as well. His new big thing is taking everything that he can and stuffing it down behind our heavy couch. Such a cute kid.
We hope that everyone else had the chance to enjoy their Halloween, and recover today as well. Happy All Saints Day!
