Going by Quickly

It is amazing how often times when you are a child you find it hard to believe adults when they say "time flies". Then you get to be an adult and you wish you didn't understand what adults meant by that.

We have had a wonderful start to the year so far. Jude around Christmas time got frustrated with people not being able to understand him anymore, and quickly took to trying to learn the language instead of just grunting. He does wonderful with his alphabet! He can sing the song and identify letters when you give them to him out of order. He can also count to ten for sure, and is desperately trying to learn up to twenty. He loves playing phonics games on the computer, and watching cartoons all about learning to read. His favorites right now are Word World, Word Girl, and Super Why.

His motor skills are still amazing. For Christmas he got a t-ball set, and was very happy with practicing swinging and hitting the ball. He has decided that it is no longer good enough though because the fall is not flying at him, so he often resorts to us throwing the ball for him to practice hitting. He allows himself a few misses, but then gets annoyed if he can't get a hit, so he practices more to correct that problem. Also, if he deems it to be an off day where he just isn't hitting the ball as often as he would like he switches and is content pitching. The kid has an arm too. If you are going to miss the ball, you better not be in the way of the ball.

Soccer has taken a little bit of a back seat for right now, but never fear, anytime you need someone to run up and down a field kicking the ball Jude is still right their for you! He is going to be fierce in kick ball someday. Instead of kicking the ball lately he wants to catch it. The size of the ball doesn't bother him, it could be a kick ball or a bouncy ball, he wants to try and catch it.

He has also taken a fancy to trying to sing along with the radio now as well. That has been great to listen to. We are working on teaching him colors, but he gets so excited when he gets one right that it is hard to progress to another color afterward. That's okay, we still have time!

Jude doesn't understand that concept that he will be a big brother yet. As far as we know everything is on track and our baby boy is still healthy for the first week of June. We are hoping that baby is not to late, because we would like the boys to have a little gap between their birthdays. All in good time though. It will be nice to almost completely finish the school year with the my students before all my attention goes to the boys.

For those of you wondering about vicarage we still know nothing. We are still praying for a local vicarage, and have eyed up a few places that we would LOVE to move that are closer to school if we can stay. They have told us that the churches are suppose to have everything turned in by March 1st so that the sem can see how many local vicarages they have. Then it is just the waiting game. The call service is set for Monday, May 2nd. The school is hoping to keep me on for next year, so I know we have their prayers too.
